Kenosha as a whole is on track to be the third largest city in the state of Wisconsin. With a large growth rate, you might want to keep your eyes open for what our downtown has to offer before it’s too late.
Lucky for us, downtown Kenosha sits along the beautiful Lake Michigan. Our lakefront provides many amenities, including soft sandy beaches, a harbor and marina that house a wide variety of boats and yachts, a 50-foot tall lighthouse, a historic beach house and SO much more!
Most errands be can me made Downtown without the use of a car! Not only are the municipal building, the post office, and the Courthouse downtown, there is also a Kenosha public library, a Chase and BMO Harris bank, three different gas stations, and three Kenosha public museums– all centrally located. More uniquely, there is a streetcar and a trolley that take you around downtown AND the Metra train that heads to Chicago. We also have over 50 food and drink options from local breweries, coffee shops, bars, and restaurants. A wide range of special services is also at the tip of your hands. Downtown Kenosha offers something unique and welcoming for everyone.
Our winters also make living in downtown Kenosha fun. You can plan your winter days ice-skating, counting down the days until our Snow-Daze and Lightin’ Up holiday events, or take a skiing and snowboarding trip a few miles north from here. All of our summer events are what we look forward to all winter too! Whether it is our Downtown Kenosha Pop-Up Beer Garden, the car-show, local music concerts, and food festivals, there is something for everyone. Each month we host Second Saturdays, where local businesses hold extended hours, host fun events and offer specials to make the shopping experience even more enjoyable.
And if for some reason you would like to get away for a day or weekend, you have the luxury to take a quick drive to a much bigger city. Only half an hour north you’ll find the city of Milwaukee and if you head south you can be in Chicago in about an hour!
Downtown Kenosha is equally as breathtaking on a sunny summer day as it is on a cold winter day. If you love a small-town feel with the amenities of a growing community with lively, hard-working individuals, then you will surely love the atmosphere of our downtown.
